Basic pistol
Basic Pistol is The Sawmill’s core pistol training course, whether you are brand new to shooting or need some tips and tricks to help you train. Basic Pistol is an outstanding course designed to teach and reinforce the fundamentals of pistol shooting, the mental/ physical/ weapon relationship, and most importantly ‘how to train’.
Topics Covered
-Weapons Safety
-Fundamentals or marksmanship (grip, sight alignment and sight picture, trigger control and follow through)
-Disassembly / assembly of the firearm
-Live fire basics - single shot assessment, trigger control drills, shooting while moving, multiple shot engagements, and more
Gear requirements: Pistol with holster that fits, belt to mount the holster on, minimum 2 magazine, eye / ear protection, and 150 rounds of ammunition. (Pro Shop has ammo for purchase and gun, belt, holster and magazines for rent) You will not be turned away if you do not have the required gear, our goal is to keep our community safe through reinforcing individual’s capabilities. Wear comfortable range appropriate clothing and footwear to match the weather. Bring water and snacks and packing a lunch is recommended.
