Sep 27 FAFO Series Competition
The Sawmill Full Auto Fitness Operator (FAFO) series is a tactical shooting competition and training event, which complements the newly created Full Auto Fitness Comp Ready (FAFCR) series. FAFCR features monthly training classes held at The Sawmill, geared towards athletes interested in improving their physical fitness and ability to shoot under stress in such competitions. Sawmill FAFO is preparation for tactical shooting competitions. In Sawmill FAFO, each of the four stages begins with a coaching period. During the coaching period, the stage leader explains the skills being trained, assessment method and criteria, and scoring. Following the coaching period, competitors run the stage for time. Scoring is Time plus points. The time budget for each stage is an hour and a half. The overall event will run about seven hours (½ hour for safety/start brief, 6 hours competition, ½ hour for awards/wrap up). Sawmill FAFO runs four stages each time. Each stage focuses on a set of skills that help the athlete prepare for tactical shooting competition. The specific content of each stage will be different each match. Each stage follows a template like what will be used in FAFCR’s structure:1) Explain, 2) Practice/coach, 3) Compete.
1) Explain: The stage leader explains the skill and any required supporting knowledge.
2) Practice/coach: The athletes perform the skill(s) in practice mode.
3) Compete: The athletes perform the skill in a tactical competition scenario and scores are recorded. Each competition scenario has an athletic/tactical stressor component as well as shooting components. The four stages are: ·

The gear/weight training requirements facilitate the skills being trained and are unique to each event. Gear requirements are published on Practiscore ahead of the competition. Sawmill FAFO athletic, weight, gear, and skill requirements are gender agnostic. Scores are not age normalized (there are no age divisions). September 27 Sawmill FAFO The four stages for the 27 September FAFO are: ·
Cone of Accuracy
Don’t Drone Me, Bro
Castle Doctrine
LPC[1] Exfil
Cone of Accuracy focuses on building rifle skills for tactical competitions. Competitors encounter smaller (often 4 MOA or smaller) targets at random ranges in tactical competitions. The focus is on small targets at medium range (150 to 400 yards). Cone of Accuracy is an AMTAP (As Many Targets as Possible) shooting scenario with an athletic/tactical stressor included. Cone of Accuracy is a “hit to move on” scenario.
Don’t Drone Me, Bro is a three gun stage. Don’t Drone Me, Bro is initiated by the required elimination of simulated drones. A stage shotgun is provided. In this stage, the athlete will neutralize all targets as encountered. This stage includes short and medium range targets for both rifle and pistol as well as simulated drone targets for shotgun.
Castle Doctrine trains on core pistol skills. The training scenario is room clearing followed by long distance pistol target acquisition and neutralization. Castle Doctrine has both paper and steel targets that must be neutralized by proper shot placement.
LPC Exfil is a run as the final stage in Sawmill FAFO. It combines the core skills trained in the previous three stages. The Scenario is a fighting exfiltration. LPC Exfil has a brief coaching component and a competition component. There is no practice component in LPC Exfil. LPC Exfil is conducted in full kit[2] and requires each competitor to carry a 35 pound rucksack. LPC Exfil sends the competitor on a long-duration loop around the Sawmill complex engaging rifle, pistol, and shotgun targets as they are encountered. Shotgun(s) as required will be provided as stage guns. LPC Exfil requires negotiating several obstacles as part of the scenario. Competitors start LPC Exfil at brief intervals to minimize stacking on the various shooting requirements/stages and obstacles. Gloves are recommended for this stage. The Sawmill FAFO is open to all athletes and guests, with special pricing for Sawmill members
