Saturday January 31 10:00am to 1:00 pm- Fundamentals of Personal Defense and Control Techniques

This introductory class teaches practical, easy to learn physical skills designed to help individuals protect themselves and others in close range situations.

Basic striking principles- proper stance, balance, and simple defensive strikes used to disengage and create distance

Joint manipulation and control techniques- Safe and effective wrist, elbow, and shoulder controls adapted from various discipline fundamentals, emphasizing leverage over strength

Break free and escape techniques- How to remove yourself from grabs, holds, and unwanted contact

We will cover upper body and lower body strikes, chokes and counters, throws, break falls, armed and unarmed manipulation, knife techniques, and weapons of opportunity.

This class is taught in a controlled, beginner friendly environment. Techniques are practiced slowly and safely, with a strong emphasis on form, responsibility, and injury prevention. This class is for those who need refreshing or who are new to the combatives realm, no age requirement
