The LPVO Employment Course is a three-day, 24-hour class that focuses on the setup, understanding & employment of a Carbine with a mounted Low Power Variable Optic. During the course shooters will be introduced to Range Estimation, Ballistics, Wind Reading, Magnified Optics, Unknown Distance (UKD) & Team Shoots. Shooters will also be exposed to standard and non-standard shooting positions. Engagement distances will range from 3 yards to 800 yards. 

This class is recommended for shooters of all abilities and skill levels. However, previous experience with weapons handling and safety is preferred however not mandatory. Weapons Safety is taught in all courses.

  • The importance of Weapons Conditions and their effect in the moment

  • The Language of the Fundamentals of Marksmanship

  • The lifesaving importance of proper Weapons Setup

  • The life and death significance of a properly Zeroed Rifle

  • The beginning of long-range shooting through Grouping Drills

  • The foundation of a precision shooter through Standard Shooting Positions

Day 2

  • The purpose behind constant Zero Confirmation

  • Introduction to the science of Ballistics

  • Introduction to the art of Wind Reading & Gun Numbers

  • The value and purpose of Rifle Truing

  • Building confidence in your system with Trajectory Validation

  • Introduction to Range Estimation

  • Applying shot essential Unknown Distance/ Known Distance Drills (UKD/KD)

  • Range Card & Target Reference Points to enhance your awareness

  • The capabilities of Rapid Engagement Techniques

  • The necessity of Speed Shooting Drills

  • Introduction to the principles of Non-Standard Positional Shooting

Day 3

  • The purpose behind constant Zero Confirmation

  • Setting up lifesaving Kit/Weapon

  • The different forms & methods of Sling Usage

  • The why & how behind Weapon Reloads & Malfunctions

  • Baseline of performance with Close Quarters Holds & Drills

  • Real world application of Barricade & Movement Drills
